Showing Up

THE REHEARSAL is an uncomfortable, quirky look at “ordinary” peoples’ fears of screwing up important moments, conversations, and life decisions. It offers the unconfident courage to move forward.

Nathan Fielder is a genius at what he does. The amount of work his team goes through to “set the stage” is mind-boggling. The wacky scenarios are humorous, and the tone  is actually lower than “low-key.” (If that is even possible) It is, at times, cringeworthy.

THE REHEARSAL begs the question if anyone should live like this. It is awkward therapy at its best with crying, fake babies and a “night owl” sleeping on the job. It leaves no stone untouched to explore, explain, and excite their viewers. After two episodes, I decided I never want to experience this in real life, yet I can’t turn away from watching. I am hooked. I need Larry David to rescue me and that thought blows away as well.

THE REHEARSAL is available to stream on HBO MAX.
