THE PITT rocks my medical TV programming world. The word ‘intense’ doesn’t even begin to describe HOUR 10 at the Pittsburgh Medical Emergency Center. It has been a “pretty fucked up day” for the staff and patients. Most can’t wait for this shift to be over. The series projects realistic scenarios that bombard the senses. It is not for the weak of heart.
Noah Wylie portrays Dr. Robbie with a straightforward, no-nonsense approach. He moves from patient to patient with the ease of a veteran doctor. His expressions are subtle yet clearly carry the authority of the doctor in charge. His emotions are expressed and then quickly compartmentalized. He is truly a fine actor who will take audiences to the edge every time.
The supporting ensemble adds excellent, raw, and outstanding moments to savor. The question in this episode was how to protect the staff from psychos. It is a gift watching the cast walk along that fine line while still inviting viewers a glimpse into life and death situations. It is excellent teamwork between the realistic, horrendous emergencies rolled through the doors and the stellar acting of all involved.
THE PITT is masterfully created TV with five more episodes in their first season. Don’t miss it.
THE PITT is streaming on MAX.
