THE MORNING SHOW premiered the first two episodes of its third season. This show has amazing star talent and power, featuring Jennifer Anniston, Reese Witherspoon, Billy Crudup, Julianna Margulies, Holland Taylor, and Greta Lee. Wow, right? So why isn’t this latest season blowing everyone away?

To be fair, episode 2 was by far the strongest. It contained a story with compelling interest and intensity…until it wasn’t. Oh, that ending was like biting into a piece of Melba toast. Bland and way too calm after the hair-raising beginning. And don’t get me started on the first episode…what the heck? Where were you going with all this “space” and feeling “most alive at work.” It really could have, would have, should have. Maybe UBA isn’t the only thing in trouble this year? Putting all the “God complexes” aside, someone has to step in and step up.

I really have always enjoyed THE MORNING SHOW immensely in the past. Yes, there were moments of the old quick banter, double entendre, and sex in the workplace. I remain hopeful that footing and plot lines will be found and brought to the forefront to delight audiences and tickle their imaginations about the world of journalism and broadcasting today. I hope someone is taking notes. It is available to screen on Apple TV+.
