THE FAMILY PLAN ๐Ÿ˜Š

I know many critics were not fond of THE FAMILY PLAN, but I’m afraid I have to disagree. This movie was pure escapism all while promoting family values. Even though I didnโ€™t believe it could happen, I was still thoroughly entertained by the fight and chase scenes. Some were even a little reminiscent of the Jackie Chan days.ย

Mark Wahlberg presents quite a picture of a husband caught with his past life catching up to present times. Is he a strong actor? No, but he is great fun to watch fighting off the bad guys with his adorable toddler nestled in his front carrier. The child absolutely steals every scene including the wild car ride. I couldnโ€™t stop giggling at the absurdity of it all and admiring the sheer complexity of the fight choreography. Well done.

THE FAMILY PLAN is predictable, and we have seen these characters before, but I didnโ€™t care. It made me laugh and feel hopeful for the future of families coming together and really enjoying each other. Itโ€™s probably because of this time of year even though it is not a holiday movie. I guess I am just a sucker for family films. It is available on Apple TV+.
