THE CONSULTANT S1 SERIES REVIEW ๐Ÿ˜Š

THE CONSULTANT was an intense, surprising, dark comedy thriller with shades of mysterious frustration. It drove me nuts because I wanted to know more about Regus Patoff, brilliantly portrayed by the talented Christopher Waltz.ย

I binged the entire series in one day.ย The first episode was the best, and then it went downhill. There was intrigue and crazy moments in the beginning. So much disbelieving of reality. This was also due to solid performances by Nat Wolff and Brittany Oโ€™Grady. Their confusion and fears heightened mine about Mr. Patoff, who was supposedly just a consultant for Comp Ware, a young, hip gaming company.ย

What I enjoyed about THE CONSULTANT were the filming techniques and camera angles. It drew the viewers deep into the story. Comp Ware was made of glass and steel. Very sparse, but with office accessories that popped vibrant colors. The flaming red stairs and the wall hangings really got your attention. The writers and director also took liberties with some of the eye-catching costumes. Oh, โ€œJezebel,โ€ย ย what a fabulous look.ย

THE CONSULTANT, however, was disappointing. It could have been so much more. More crazinessโ€ฆ more comedy or dramaโ€ฆclearer character, and a bigger payoff at the end. I wanted the series to really GO for it and not stay in the middle lane as much. If it is renewed, I hope a golden bone will be better explained. I can only suspend my disbelief to a certain degree.ย

THE CONSULTANT is available to stream on AMAZON PRIME.
