What I love about TV shows like THE BOYS, BARRY, and BETTER CALL SAUL is that they put characters in situations where there’s no way they can win. Homelander (Tony Starr) is invincible – so how can the rag-tag team of Hughie (Jack Quaid), Butcher (Karl Urban), Frenchie (Tomer Capone), Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara), and Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso) beat him? That’s the question that keeps me tuning in weekly. Well, that and the insane violence that brings a super-hamster into the mix with an 😂 worthy moment.
Last week’s premiere episodes of THE BOYS felt like it was ramping up for a war to take down Vought International and Homelander. Yet, after this week, the story is heading into the “all-is-lost” mode. With the advent of 24-hr Compound V and the different characters that use it, THE BOYS are now facing their biggest crisis yet, each other.
If that battle wasn’t enough, audiences get a lot to soak in Starlight’s (Erin Moriarty) plot and her trying to take the seven down from the inside. And yes, everything that’s planned goes horribly wrong. And no, that’s not a spoiler since that continually happens in this series.
So – what are you waiting for? Tune in to watch the most sadistic fun series on TV. I wish I could pop compound V and time travel to next Friday to see what will happen after this week’s cliffhanger.
