The fifth episode of THE ACOLYTE should provide STAR WARS fans with what they want. It has twenty minutes of non-stop action and is the best episode so far. Yet, for reasons stated over the first four episodes, I still do not care.
With that out of the way – holy freaking sh*t! Those fights were ridiculous. And the consequences of the battles should be felt going forward. I wish to say more about NIGHT, but everything I could write would veer into spoiler territory. My biggest non-spoiler compliment is that this should have been episode three of the series. We did not need the backstory episode or much filler over the last four episodes.
Normally, I would give an episode like this a 🤩 however, the last few minutes just fell flat. Once all the dynamic action “died” down, the show delivered another idiotic plot point. The story beat isn’t horrendous; it’s just been done to “death” in several better TV shows and movies. Despite E5 having some of the best fighting I’ve seen in the STAR WARS TV series, I have zero excitement to keep watching due to those closing minutes. Oh, and bugs. Yes, stupid bugs are also the downfall (you’ll know when you see it).
