TED LASSO is like “low-fat custard that doesn’t make you sad.” It’s comforting yet complicated, like the book PRINCE OF TIDES.

This week’s edition spends most of its time away from the soccer field, focusing on the return of Jamie (Phil Dunster) and Roy (Brett Goldstein). But, don’t worry – it’s not what you think. They are not still fighting over the girl, Keeley (Juno Temple). Instead, they’re trying to figure out what to do for the second act of their career. As Roy and Jamie learn that “people say cuss words when they don’t know the words to express themselves,” Ted and the Doc (Sarah Niles) go head-to-head in a fun battle of the mind.

Ted and the lovable supporting cast are a group of friends that listen while working well together. They provide a safe space to “burden each other with their issues and anxieties.” If that’s what friendship is, I would gladly accept a friend request from any character. They’re just all so darn likable.

The latest episode is still the reason to subscribe to Apple TV+.
