TED LASSO S4E7 YES & BABY

TV Esta Rosevear

YES & BABY has to be my favorite episode this season of TED LASSO. It wasn’t one thing that pushed the level of writing and story content over the top, but rather the sheer cleverness of a conglomeration of events and conversations. It propelled the empathy button loud, clear, and long. It will make audiences shed a tear, laugh out loud, and sigh with contentment at the end. It was a powerful episode that showcased more backstory layers of the entire ensemble. Bravo. I am on my feet with a standing O.

I believe what made this installment so tight and fresh was the split-second editing of all the bits, gags, and shenanigans. From the world of improv and the Meisner technique of acting to the insane comedic genius of Tracey Ullman’s schtick, I couldn’t stop laughing. It was brilliant writing, directing, and acting from start to finish.

It usually takes a running gag three times to hit a bull’s-eye and become memorable. One word was humorously woven throughout each segment, and it held this week’s TED LASSO together. I stan in awe at how magically this effect was brought to the perfect final thought. I loved it. Don’t miss this one. It was excellent TV viewing.

TED LASSO is streaming on Apple TV+.
