TULSA KING S4E1 W.W.D.D.

TV Esta Rosevear

TULSA KING premiered another episode from their fourth season. It was mostly reiterating where the series left off and how the TULSA KING, better known as Dwight, The General, brought to life by Sylvester Stallone. The weight of the show rests heavily upon his shoulders in order to suspend all disbelief and accept his role as a mob boss. Yes, there are script flaws and pothokes, but who really cares when witnessing an iconic legend on our tv screens. There should be mo arguing that Stallone’s still got the “it” factor.

This first installment sets TULSA KING  up for the entire season. It ended with a devastating cliffhanger. The writers broke my heart, but as a result of what occurred, there will be major retribution I am sure that will be explored in depth during the coming weeks. I kinda liked the choices they made. It should lend itself to more thrilling action and thug-like dialogues and sarcastic banter.

The TK ensemble is really coming into their own with several subplots making their way to the surface. My only complaint is that I have to wait a week in between each airing. I am even adjusting to watching an eighty-year-old man with a banged up face that has been pulled and stretched within no doubt many face lifts. Dwight is also an extremely sharp, dresser and I am sure this reflects Stallone’s choice of clothing. He is just too cool and delightfully entertaining to watch.

TULSA KING is not for everybody. I get that, but I can’t resist watching a master character creator at work. It is definitely one of my  guilty pleasures and I am not ashamed to admit it.

TULSA KING is streaming on Paramount+.
