Esta Rosevear SLOW HORSES premiered its first episode of season six following the grief-ridden story of the dysfunctional MI5 team from Slough House in London. It was a slow burn filling in all the crevices from the past. CIRCLE OF LIFE was the perfect set-up for all things to come. It raised more questions than answers as usual that always makes this spy-thriller so intriguing and entertaining.Â
Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb is as crusty and cantankerous a character as ever. He never ceases to amaze me with his clever insight and disgusting bodily sounds. He simply gets better season after season. Jack Lowdan as River Cartwright is the perfect foil to his bosses’ complaints and verbal jabs. It is a wonder anything gets solved, but it always does with enough residual crap waiting to turn into another story. This is why SLOW HORSES is a favorite of most critics. Myself included.
SLOW HORSES did not give anything away. Nor shall I. We will all have to work for the truth sifting through the entire team’s struggles and blunders. I am sure there will be many. I can’t wait.
