STILL: A MICHAEL J. FOX MOVIE gives viewers a poignant and profound inside look at a man ravaged by an insidious, debilitating disease. This film could have taken the melodramatic, sad road but instead uses every moment to stay optimistic and inspiring.
Michael was born the “runt” of his Canadian family, but because of his small stature, he used every ounce of his size to his advantage. He played kids and later, teenagers long into his twenties. He was the face America fell in love with and recognized. He was a workaholic who desperately needed the work to support himself. Audiences learned much about the “how” and “when” his health caught up to him.
The best part about STILL is listening to Michael candidly tell and show his journey. Watching him go through his morning routine, daily workouts, and chatting with his family, friends, and colleagues was priceless. It gives fans a realistic glimpse into the power of Parkinson’s Disease as seen through the eyes of an optimistic, never-quit fighter.
This film allows us to cry and laugh alongside one of the most influential men of our time. He asks for no sympathy. His life, he says, is rich and full of love. This is due in part to his incredible wife, Tracy Pollen, and his beautiful daughters. He does not feel sorry for himself, and that is the crux of STILL. Michael is a hopeful visionary who is pragmatic about his own life span and the cure for Parkinson’s. He expects nothing less.
STILL: A MICHAEL J. FOX MOVIE will give viewers an emotional roller coaster ride. It will lift your heart and soul to new heights. It does allow for some wishful thinking for a cure so Michael could stay with us for as long as possible. If only…
STILL is available to stream on Apple TV+.
