Esta Rosevear STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS was truly a thinking episode. It shared the emotional scars of living a hidden life while protecting others. It explored how constant monitoring and violent maneuvering by more powerful people can create widespread resistance. It was reminiscent of what goes on all around the world today. It was a mighty realization that even 400 years from now, things don’t change entirely. Power is pretty intoxicating, no matter what the century.
The total black-and-white images were very creative, yet it was difficult to pick up on the necessary facial cues. Reading the room became a constant task for the ship’s crew. The shadowy background projected double innuendos for all sides of this unusual planetary society structure. It gave fans pause to see how much interference would go down despite the Federation’s Prime Directive. The writing was captivating and entertaining.
STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS is taking on a story line from each main character’s point of view or perspective each week. I wonder who viewers will hear from next. Stay tuned to Paramount. It is an exciting, well-crafted series that does not disappoint.
