SILO is a fascinating look at approximately 10,000 people of all ages living underground in a SILO built 140 years ago. They don’t know “why they are there or when they should leave. They only know it is not today.”
What makes this show so compelling is the plot line and the richness of the talented ensemble. There are differences between the people who live on top and those who are on the bottom levels. It is indeed a caste system of worthiness for the betterment of SILO’s society. There are rules to follow. A sheriff is in charge along with the Judicial. At any moment, the SILO’s generator could break down and plunge everyone into darkness. Murders have occurred. Is it safe to go outside? So many unanswered questions and problems to solve. Where is the ”truth?” And more importantly, who can you trust?
The amazing ensemble includes David Oyelowo, Rashida Jones, Rebecca Ferguson, and Common. They truly encompass their characters with incredible depth and perception. Their performances are exciting, believable, and scary as to where this group of lost souls is headed. I cannot look away until I know more.
SILO, so far, has kept my undivided interest. There are many dramatic stories yet to tell within this circular cylinder which, by the way, is an amazing set. It is worth your time to tune in and see where they all end up. It is available to stream on Apple TV+.
