SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW is just that. It is a show about a woman who happens to turn into a semi-“hulky” bod and looks very green. Oh, and yes, Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany), considers herself more lawyer than super-hero. Ask me if I care?

This series had so much promise when the first episode aired. I loved seeing The Hulk (Mark Buffalo), and SHE-HULK side by side bantering, “gently” fighting, and acting like family. But then, poof…The Hulk was gone. We were left with a non-Avenger, poorly, dressed, “swiping left” character. I need action from my superheroes. I need excitement. I do not want to watch courtroom scenes every week. If that were the case,  I could watch old Ali McBeal reruns.

SHE-HULK did humiliate herself. I agree, she deserves better, but so do we as women viewers. What makes a super-hero series work is whether you love them or love hating them. With SHE-HULK, the writers have not given us that empathy vibe. If she dresses well or not, finds the man of her dreams or not, doesn’t make me want to watch. She IS a strong, smart woman, but why should I be involved week after week? Where is the “hook?” I am a patient person, but at some point, I need to be “reeled in.” Nikki (Ginger Gonzaga), is much more interesting. Writing about her, would be funnier and more intriguing.

SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW is not really a “Marvel” series so far. It is just another, sometimes humorous, sitcom about a woman discovering her core identity. Wake me up when she does. It is available to stream on DISNEY+.
