Every once in awhile an original yet bizarre film comes along that makes you think “what the hell did I just watch?”; SHE DIES TOMORROW is one of those movies.
Written and directed by the very talented Amy Seimetz (who is also a film and tv actress and producer), this unsettling horror-drama relies on a very simple pitch: Amy, the protagonist, is absolutely, positively certain she’s going to die the next day.
What seems like a preposterous idea at first infects everyone she comes into contact with over the course of one dizzying night, perhaps her last night alive. A strong supporting cast that includes Jane Adams, Chris Messina, Tunde Adebimpe, and a few surprising cameos made me only want more of this story when its 86-minute runtime expired.
SHE DIES TOMORROW is the perfect 2020 film, a time where misinformation spreads faster than California wildfires, a story like Amy’s doesn’t seem that outlandish after all.
SHE DIES TOMORROW had a one-week run at drive-ins over the summer of 2020 and is now streaming on Hulu.
