SCRUBS completed its first revived season with hopes of many more to come. I had to mention this nostalgic and beautifully crafted, nine-episode series once more. If you are a fan of Zach Braff and Bill Lawrence humor, then this comedic sitcom gem will surely float your boat.Â
SCRUBS is first and foremost a series about friendship. I am talking about old, new, bro, sisterhood, husband/wife, colleague/boss, mentor/mentee ties or bonds that cannot be denied. It is a testament to everything we hold dear in our lives. It is cleverly written, drawing your heart into the framework of hospital scenarios. It reinforces what it means to be a teacher and a leader. It allows its characters to be flawed and to react very humanly. The comedic timing is spot-on and provides extra beats to showcase empathy through gut-wrenching decisions. Fine writing and fine acting.Â
SCRUBS might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it is mine. I love how it pulls fans back to tender, silly, dramatic, humorous moments that feel real. It is the polar opposite of THE PITT, but that’s okay. There is room enough for both.
SCRUBS is available on Hulu.Â
