RICK AND MORTY S8E4 THE LAST TEMPTATION OF JERRY 😊

The juvenile sexual humor in THE LAST TEMPTATION OF JERRY leans more into the “can we get away with this on TV” instead of moving towards, is it funny? However, it still kind of works, thanks to some clever Dan Brown references, Easter and religious mockery, and the return of Jerry.

Some of my favorite quotes this week:

  • “80s were foverever ago. You’re old.”
  • “All I’m getting is H.R. Giger meets Coachella.”
  • Regarding why Easter is important:
    • Jerry: “We eat candy to remember.”
    • Beth: “If it wasn’t for the aisle of Costco, you wouldn’t even remember.”

So far, we’ve had four throwaway episodes that do not impact the overarching story this season. None of them have been bad – but I am tired of being “Easter Claused” and looking forward to RICK AND MORTY figuring out what it’s going to be this year.

It’s available on Adult Swim.
