I have some “good enough news,” the latest RICK AND MORTY is “doing a DIE HARD.” That means it’s a self-contained episode that combines DIE HARD 1-3 and mashes it together with a bit of INCEPTION. It’s at times hilarious and also purposeless.
After last week’s S6 premiere, I was hoping that RICK AND MORTY’s new season did fewer sitcom episodes and more to move the plot forward. This week does zero to do that, yet it has enough for viewers to turn in, aka “come out to the coast, for a few laughs.”
My favorite quotes this week are:
- “She hates DIE HARD, which makes her the ultimate McClane!”
- “As a grandpa is about to die, they state – “I gotta finish my zinger.”
- “08% of the Snyder cut was Batman dreaming.”
So, pick up a walkie-talkie and enjoy the most meta-spoof of DIE HARD yet. In other words, “walkie-talkie DIE HARD mutha f*cker!”
