PLATONIC S1E1-E3 😊

The zany comedy chemistry between Rose Byrne and Seth Rogan carries over from NEIGHBORS to their new TV series on Apple TV+. After three episodes, I’m okay with having an open relationship with the series, but not ready to define my relationship status and commit to the entire season.

Outside of loving Rogan and Byrne’s slipping into their WHEN HARRY MET SALLY-inspired roles, I also couldn’t stop laughing at the situational comedy moments they are put in. Pet lizards, kid school pick-up, home buying in Los Angeles, and so much more.

What doesn’t work is how predictable the sitcom-style trappings are. We’ve seen countless iterations of a protagonist getting a divorce, being forced to move on, and coming to the realization by either ending up with the friend or using them to grow-up.

I hope my PLATONIC relationship with this show will grow into something more meaningful, but it’s way too early to tell.

It’s available on Apple TV+.
