The saddest thing is that this is a way better adaptation of The Haunted Mansion than the lousy Eddie Murphy movie from 2003!

I’m a huge fan of the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. So every nod, line, and homage they did was spot-on perfect — only made even better by the presence of Muppets (of which I’m also a huge fan)! And unlike some of the more recent Muppets-based projects like ABC’s short-lived THE MUPPETS show or the Disney+ MUPPETS NOW project, the writing on this one is really funny and clever.

The most surprising thing of all is there’s some pretty creepy imagery showcased here! It’s not scary on par with something like NIGHTBOOKS or anything. But for a Muppet project, there’s some creepy moments! And that’s just awesome!

Then there’s also the heart of it. Which really is centered around my favorite Muppet, Gonzo. There’s a really great message about self-acceptance and appreciation that is pretty heartfelt and poignant. It’s nothing on par with an episode of Ted Lasso or anything. But it’s a lot better than it has any right to be.

Bottom line, if you’re like me, and you love the Haunted Mansion, and The Muppets, you’ll love this! It’s easily the best Muppet project to come along since THE MUPPETS (2011) film from James Bobbin, and the best Haunted Mansion adaptation ever made. It gives you exactly what you need for a spooky fun good time!

THE MUPPETS HAUNTED MANSION is now streaming only on Disney+!
