MEET ME NEXT CHRISTMAS is a predictable holiday rom-com with no surprises. Its only saving grace is the fabulous acapella singing group Pentatonix. If you are a fan, you will thoroughly enjoy their quick-talking moments, improvisational harmonies, and musical numbers. I am a huge fan, so this was the best part of the entire movie.
I love a good romance story, but this one seemed a little contrived and over-the-top. The couple chemistry was just not as hot as it should be. They did not sizzle or “sass.” The location shots in New York were terrific and visually brought on the holiday spirit.
If viewers can handle the typical dialogues, then MEET ME NEXT CHRISTMAS is for you. For me, the music sold this movie, but it might be easier just to listen to Pentatonix’s greatest hits.
