JUST THE TIP was one of my favorite shorts shown during the final day of the Spokane Jewish Film Festival. It tackled the unspoken topic of circumcision and whether to cut or not to cut…that is the question.
The film evoked all kinds of emotions. It took the subject very seriously as a young, future mom-to-be interviewed a slew of doctors, friends, family, and religious leaders. Watching JUST THE TIP, I learned more than I ever thought possible about the male anatomy, but it was all handled with grace, ease, and humor; I felt like it was a normal conversion. It was obvious the audience agreed due to their spontaneous applause while the credits rolled.Â
JUST THE TIP was a funny, educational film, even though some male audience members might have been squirming the entire time.Â
