FIREFLY LANE is about a friendship between two women from age 14 to decades into adulthood. They lived next door to each other as teenagers on FIREFLY LANE.
Let’s be very honest about this series. It is a soap with all the angst and growing pains women require in their friendships. It flips between three timelines throughout each episode. This was very confusing because I needed to see more overt changes in their costumes and hair styles. It would have helped.
FIREFLY LANE brought up tons of social issues, but never dealt with them enough to make any lasting difference. Casting Katherine Heigl as Tully Hart was brilliant because her character and supposed off screen persona seemed one and the same. Strong women leave lasting impressions.
But is this 10 episode series worth your time? Frankly, it depends on how much each viewer enjoys a soap. I, for one, have lost 10 hours of my life that I cannot ever get back.
FIREFLY LANE is available to stream on Netflix.
