This past year of 2024, television offered viewers a plethora of excellent, entertaining choices. Series that made all of us laugh, cry, and ponder our way through every visceral emotion. They were exhilarating and worthy of our time connected to the smaller screen.
I have compiled a list of my top 20 in no particular order. If forced to choose the best dramatic and comedic show, it must be SHOGUN and HACKS, respectively, but the other 18 represent phenomenal, creative productions. I have reviewed each one on this site, so rather than repeat myself, these are my one-word or short-phrase impressions. Enjoy!

BAD SISTERS – the power of a woman times five
THE PENGUIN – prosthetics
TRUE DETECTIVE: NIGHT COUNTRY – Jodie Foster
ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING – the dynamic trio plus Meryl Streep
SAY NOTHING – I wanted to scream the truth
DOCTOR WHO – lightning speed speech that rests on a screwdriver
A MAN ON THE INSIDE – Ageism, Ted Danson, and belly-laughs
WE WERE THE LUCKY ONES – courageous, family ties, sickening, and “never again”
