EMILY IN PARIS is openly no longer about any substance but rather all about the extraordinary, exquisite couture. The clothing is sincerely to die for, but it makes no sense how any of the characters can afford to own so many amazing, breathtaking outfits.
Emily (Lilly Collins) is stunningly beautiful. She resonates with a type of beauty introduced during the Golden Age of cinema. Her face is expressive, allowing viewers to feel every emotion at any given time. She lights up the screen.
There are fireworks when Emily and Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) embrace, gaze, kiss, or dance. It is palatable. The entire ensemble is always immersed in drama-trauma that holds the show in its proper flirty, lusty place. Is this enough to keep audiences coming back? For now, yesโฆas long as the designers keep creating โpenis pants!โ
There is nothing serious about EMILY IN PARIS. It is all about the gorgeous, scenic cinematography, the marketing pitch, and the PG love scenes. Imagine what a show it would be if the script added substance. Ooo-la-la!
The first five episodes are streaming on Netflix. It will return on September 12th with five more to complete the season.ย
