CALL ME KAT is back for its second season right where they left off last year. It’s all about choices, and who will Kat (Mayim Bialik) determine is her boyfriend.
What makes this first chapter fun and different is seeing three former cast members from Mayim’s earlier sitcom in the mid-’90s make an appearance. It was humorous sharing laughs with Joey (Joey Lawrence), Six (Jenna von Oy), and Anthony (Michael Stoyanov). It seemed like old times when Mayim sneaked in a little tap dance and wore a hat with a huge flower on top.
My favorite scenes are always whenever Phil (Leslie Jordan) or Sheila (Swoosie Kurtz) appears. They, along with Mayim, are the “queens” of comedy. Max (Cheyenne Jackson) is definitely easy on the eyes as well. He can smile in my direction any time. In each episode, Kat invariably breaks the fourth wall and talks directly to the audience. More please… it cracks me up.
CALL ME KAT is based on the hit BBC comedy series MIRANDA. Miranda is still one of Kat’s writers, along with a new director. Let’s hope that CALL ME KAT keeps improving and making us chuckle each week.
It is available to stream on FOX Television.
