Holy crap… BAD SISTERS is back. I will say it again… holy crap! What a way to start another season of an intriguing, twisted, quirky murder case. I am all in with the Garvey women. Here’s my season review.
E1-E2 🤩
From last year’s crazy conclusion, I know that the denouement will not be what we think to be true, and that’s due to the powerful creative writers. I love being surprised and wrong. It keeps me on my toes, and now that we all have a better understanding of the ensemble, we will be looking for that fresh edge of half-truths. Oh, bring it on. I can’t wait.
Episode two ended in a doozy of a cliffhanger. Here’s hoping my extra-large box of Kleenex is not necessary.
E3 MISSING 🤩
BAD SISTERS is sadly blanketed within the aftermath. It is a testament to the superb writing and instinctive raw acting skills that this episode provides so much realism. People gather. Police hover. And the Priest is unintelligible. Oh, a good comedic bit is always welcome.
E4 PERSON OF INTEREST 😊
The sisters are lost in grief and confusion. The writers make it very clear especially when dealing with Angelica (Fiona Shaw). There is nothing this character won’t stoop to do against the Garvey’s. The tone of this series was always a dark comedy, but it feels much more urgent and ominous recently. There are many compacted levels to BAD SISTERS and sometimes it is a tough watch, but the acting quality always pulls me back. Life was never meant to be easy, and these sisters are getting beyond their fair share.
E5 BOOM 🤩
Fiona Shaw as Angelica is brilliantly portrayed, subtle, and seriously hilarious. She is an actor’s dream role. Whenever she pedals her bicycle back and forth to the Garvey sisters’ home, she reminds me of the wicked witch from Oz.
I must mention Karaoke night as well. No spoilers, except to say now I have an urge to party. It felt natural and relaxed throughout some very poignant moments.
E6 WHO BY WATER 🤩
BAD SISTERS is such an interesting and entertaining series. I am continually surprised by the sisters’ impulsive “cat and mouse” moves each week. WHO BY WATER is no exception. Every character is flawed and hopelessly likable by their fans. It is tough not to get wrapped up in their crazy shenanigans.
E7 HOW TO PICK A PRICK 🤩
BAD SISTERS is just filled with surprises. If one door shuts, the writers know exactly where and how they take viewers. Big plot holes are filled with unexpected answers, making the show so much fun to watch. It all comes down to next week’s finale, and I can’t wait.
E8 CLIFFHANGER 🤩
BAD SISTERS has created a tight community of friends, family, and foes. Their sometimes over-the-top reactions ring true for any close-knit group of people. Their blunt and humorous sarcasm makes the Garvey siblings realistic and true to their differences as characters. Each ensemble member knows exactly how and when to breathe life into every line. They are all simply a joy to watch. I will miss their shenanigans.
