AND JUST LIKE THAT made its return for season two with a sex-filled montage opener. Now that’s a lusty way to catch up on what the ensemble has been doing. Both episodes showcased the power, pain, and joy of relationships. For Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), it is all about “keeping it in the bedroom and not on the roof.”
AJLT seemed to have a better comedic rhythm so far. It felt more like a cohesive group, yet still struggling with life’s surprises. Thank goodness, they all have each other no matter how far away they may move. It is awesome to see women celebrating and sharing their everyday lives. The writers seem to have found that pocket of womanhood and friendship that both SEX AND THE CITY and AJLT have always featured above all else. I am getting used to the expanded cast. I hope the writers continue the stories that bind all of them together. It creates more empathy and anticipation for what could happen next.
The clothes and accessories of AJLT continue to rock everyone’s world. So many stunning gowns and elaborate, creative headpieces for the Met. They took my breath away. And I must mention the best little surprise purse ever featured. Who knew a pigeon could look so cool? What an homage to New Yorkers!
It was a breath of fresh air to watch a little bit of the real-world creep up in a storyline about cabs and their fares. It was a reality check between Dior and Chanel. More, please. This is the 21st century, after all. Not everything has to be about “vagina wellness.”
AND JUST LIKE THAT, offered many improvements from last season. It seemed like they were listening to what their fans and critics were saying. Bravo. This makes me hopeful for what is yet to come.
