The third segment of ALLEN v. FARROW is all about what occurred after the sexual accusation of child abuse was submitted by Mia Farrow involving her daughter, Dylan, with Woody Allen. The aftermath was mind boggling.
All of this took place in 1992 and 1993. There were investigations in two states, New York and Connecticut. Woody was king of New York with all of his high profile filming in the city and the powers that be came through for him. The press was overwhelmingly against Mia.
Woody Allen was recorded by Mia Farrow saying, “It doesn’t matter what is true. What matters is what’s believed.” This reminds me of today and how powerful, affluent people can control the media noise.
The most haunting moments of this episode is watching seven year old Dylan describing what she knows to be true and then viewing the adult Dylan sharing how broken she was growing up. This is a heart wrenching story with no winners.
