WOMEN IN BLUE S2

TV Esta Rosevear

WOMEN IN BLUE completed its second season with intriguing excitement and a satisfying conclusion. I am content where they left it. The series is based on a true story about the first four women who became police officers in Mexico during the early ’70s. The writing documents, from a dramatic perspective, how much machismo attitude the men in the department forced the ladies to endure every day. WOMEN IN BLUE details how changes were finally made due to their help in solving a huge serial cop killer case. The attention to meticulous details and following through made all the difference.

WOMEN IN BLUE is totally spoken in Spanish. Luckily, the voice-over actors were good and spoke with gusto and passion. I never felt like I lost something in the translation. The story content gently opened the backstories of each of the four women. Their successes and missteps were revealed with raw honesty and grace. Their lives grew tenfold because they were true to themselves and the people they loved, yet for those who would choose to watch an entertaining crime mystery, this will also hit every mark on their checklist. WIB had its psychologically evil, violent moments as well.

WOMEN IN BLUE is a well-thought-out show that is sure to inspire everyone to never give up on their dreams. It is also wonderful to know that just a few can make a difference and change entire police force policies and protocol. Bravo.

WOMEN IN BLUE is streaming on Apple TV.
