The lone highlight in the latest episode of WILLOW is seeing the glorious Hannah “TED LASSO” Waddingham’s cameo. Outside of that, this entire sequel should’ve been “slaughtered lamb.”
In WILLOW, a character jokes when hearing a story from a character named Boorman that it was a “bore, man.” That’s how I’ve felt about the last two episodes of WILLOW. There is nothing wrong with this series. It’s more of a question: why reboot one of my fond childhood movies and turn it into an eight-part TV show? Especially since it doesn’t have the magic of THE DARK CRYSTAL sequel, nor the bloody fun of PREY.
Sadly, I won’t continue watching WILLOW weekly. TBD if my colleague Ricky can take the journey that should’ve been left in our childhood memory boxes.
