WILL TRENT’s second season ended with a devastating cliffhanger. It was an emotional upheaval that will have lasting complications throughout next year when it returns. I was rooting for Will’s (Ramon Rodriguez) psychological growth and well-being so much that I did not see the final moments coming.
The unique aspect of this office of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is how all the character’s stories overlap and how they support each other no matter what. Their lives are messy just like ordinary citizens. The difference is most of us do not run towards danger or flying bullets. The writers have wisely created flaws within the entire ensemble. They are juggling divorce, children, loneliness, regrets, PTSD, anger issues, and love relationships exactly like the rest of us. This is what makes WILL TRENT compelling. It feels authentic and not perfect. Kudos to all who created this action and emotionally-packed series.Â
WILL TRENT is gritty. It juxtaposes the power of drug addictions with an adorable, gentle Chihuahua, Betty. It is a straightforward cop show that solves cases with brilliant speed and panache. It is simply well done, and available to stream on Hulu.Â
