WIDOW’S BAY S1E1-E2 🤩

WIDOW’S BAY premiered two episodes filled with moments of potential horror while hinting at the frenzied truth about this imagined New England island. I believe all the puzzle pieces are being put in place for a really big haunting with deadly results.

The town of WIDOW’S BAY features an ensemble of crazy characters that most would find amusing and foreboding. This includes the skeptical Mayor played by Matthew Rhys (BROTHERS AND SISTERS, THE BEAST IN ME). He will do anything to prove to the people of his town that they are wrong, and he has the acting skills to brilliantly showcase his frustration. He almost convinced me as well. His tone is filled with sarcasm, leaving everyone complacent. He is entertaining to watch, even as he assumes the worst is yet to come.

WIDOW’S BAY is cleverly written, and the pacing is brisk. It is all a setup for what’s in store for audiences. It is directed by Hiro Murai (THE BEAR, MR. AND MRS. SMITH) and Andrew DeYoung (THE CHAIR COMPANY), so we are all in capable hands. I am hooked, and it is no secret that horror is not my fave, but I am intrigued to find out more about where the skeletons are buried and who will die next.

WIDOW’S BAY is streaming on Apple TV.
