Unlike the ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING ensemble, some of the best episodes of WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS occur when the leads are separated. In PINE BARRENS, the ensemble spends time apart with a much-needed guys’ trip and a “female f*ck-about” that includes watching and hilariously singing along to MAMMA MIA.
Yet, the highlight this week was Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) and his family. Seeing who Guillermo is he is should make anyone’s “blood boil.”
We are “over halfway there” to the end of S4. Although the one-off plots have been funny the last few weeks, I’m still “livin’ on a prayer” that more change will happen by the end of the season.
