WE WILL DANCE AGAIN 🤩

WE WILL DANCE AGAIN is a difficult documentary to watch. It will leave a heavy pit in the bottom of anyone’s stomach. It is authentic, raw, and brutal beyond mere words and our terrified imaginations. Yariv Mozer, the director, forces audiences face to face with pure evil as the horrifying events of October 7th unfold at the Nova Music Festival near the Gaza border in Israel.

This film is so alarming because it is told through the memories, cell phones, and interviews of some survivors. It retold what they endured from beginning to end and how they still cope today. Videos are shown that most have never seen before on news stations. They were there when limbs were cut off, when the bombing began, when grenades were continuously thrown, when they hid in unthinkable places when hostages were taken, and when they visually saw the multitude of bodies strewn everywhere. They relive those horrific hours daily, stuck in a PTSD cycle of survivor’s guilt, loss, and grief.

The world knows the fierceness of Israel’s retaliation. The cycle is never-ending. WE WILL DANCE AGAIN does not offer any solutions. The film tells the story from the perspective of how it began. It is bold and very well done. Even though we all know what happened, my heart raced the entire time. The title is hopeful and inspiring, while the movie shares visceral storytelling.

WE WILL DANCE AGAIN is streaming on PARAMOUNT+.
