VIRGIN RIVER completed its fifth season with two more holiday episodes. The plot line took up right where it left off and gave audiences a goose-bumpy, saccharine, sweet soap story. I would expect nothing less from VR.Â
Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson are a match made in heaven. Their glowing, adoring looks at each other are what viewers tune in to see. Most women and men dream of a Jack and a Mel, who loves unconditionally. I don’t want to call this show a fantasy. It is simply filled with love, joy, and acceptance at every corner of this small town. Escapism and hope are words I would use to describe this well-made rom-com. Yet, it always leaves viewers with a cliffhanger to ensure their return next season. This is smart writing from a team that understands their genre.Â
VIRGIN RIVER never disappoints. It always begs the request for more so we can forget about the reality of our everyday, ordinary lives.
