THE LOST KING is based on a true story centered around finding King Richard III’s remains from approximately 500 years ago. This does not sound riveting, but it was with Sally Hawkins as Philippa leading the well-acted and subtle British ensemble.
The writers gave the “inside” scoop as to how one woman’s tenacious quest solved this mystery. Of course, she had some help from a King Richard III Historical Society that met in a local pub and a handsome Royal apparition. It was a testament to never giving up and always believing in yourself. These are wonderful themes to begin the new year.
THE LOST KING was fast-paced and entertaining every step of Philippa’s’ journey. Sometimes, the smaller films give audiences more “bang for their buck” and leave us inspired.
