I am constantly intrigued by movies that the public rates with double percentage points over the criticsโ opinions. Such is the case with the film THE LIFE LIST.ย ย I stand with the viewers. Even though it is a predictable, saccharine sweet rom-com, I thoroughly enjoyed the heartfelt moments.ย
Adam Brooks wrote and directed THE LIFE LIST. He is such a capable, creative artist with a very impressive resume (DEFINITELY, MAYBE, BRIDGET JONES: THE EDGE OF REASON, IMPOSTERS, PRACTICAL MAGIC, and FRENCH KISS). Brooks knows his way around romantic stories. Sprinkle together the beautiful Sophia Carson with Kyle Allen, Connie Britton, and audiences have an entertaining scenario. It is not necessary to look too deeply. The motherly affirmations hit the spot. I agree that the film could have delved into more mishaps about everyday pesky conflicts, but it was meant to be a simple tale of finding who you are again when life can throw you off track. It is relatable and even inspiring at times. It is never too late.ย
THE LIFE LIST is great for those lazy Sunday afternoon cinema treats. It is not rocket science. Just relax and enjoy the journey. You may want to create your life list to complete this year. I have already started working on mine.ย
THE LIFE LIST is streaming on Netflix.ย
