THE LAST CRUISE is a very short look at what happened to the Diamond Princess Cruise Ship when the Covid pandemic was first discovered in January, 2020. It was filmed through cell phones aboard the traveling deathtrap by passengers and crew members. It is a 40 minute extremely, powerful documentary.
The film points out the difference in class cruising. This is whether you have a cabin above or below the ocean level. It is relevant to the type of care passengers and crew received during those first few months of utter chaos.
The emotions were ragged, real and palatable throughout. At the end, those still aboard were begging their respective countries for help to return home. Over half the people died.
I believe THE LAST CRUISE is necessary to witness. It’s the only way we can honor the deaths of so many and perhaps learn from our mistakes.
THE LAST CRUISE is available to stream on HBO MAX..
