THE GILDED AGE was very exciting as the writers moved the story forward with delightful, power-packed, gossipy moments. Everything is turning tipsy-turvy with proposals, trips, newfound money, and the possibility of losing it all. What fun for fans.Â
The series continues to overwhelm the visual senses now that England is also in the picture. I say this in a good way. Castle life is complicated and breathtaking. I am enjoying the delicious arcs set up for the ensemble. I almost feel sorry for Bertha because of her stellar acting skills, which evoke sympathy in the audience. Time will tell if she lands on her feet. I would never bet against her.Â
THE GILDED AGE is so well-done, entertaining, and even romantic at times. I love the comparison from the women of color to the very white society. There just was no equality in the late 1800s. What a shame for our country, but it creates an intriguing series for all of us to contemplate.
THE GILDED AGE is streaming on HBO Max.Â
