THE GILDED AGE S3E3 LOVE IS NEVER EASY ๐Ÿ˜Š

THE GILDED AGE was a powerhouse of emotional upheaval, all centering around the many stages of love. The title, LOVE IS NOT EASY is a very accurate assessment. The writers hit the nail on the head with that observation.ย

Cynthia Nixon’s portrayal of Ada in a heartfelt monologue brought me to tears. Her timing and tone were impeccable. Christine Baranski provided the relief laughter, displaying her temper tantrum as Agnes. It was much needed. I was also drawn to all the ladies who entertained the audience with their fine performances. It is a deliciously gossipy period piece that amplifies what is important to the wealthy in the early 1900s.ย

THE GILDED AGE costumes are breathtaking. Each detail adds the necessary layers to create a visual feast. I canโ€™t imagine wearing so much tight, high-collared clothing. Kudos to the costume crew and designers. The pearl drop was amazing, and I am sure it is foreshadowing Gladysโ€™s future. It was a clever moment.ย

THE GILDED AGE impresses me with all the current issues presented. It is at times a great history lesson. I look forward to this entertaining show each week.

It is streaming on HBO Max.ย
