THE GILDED AGE is setting itself up for showdowns among several plot lines. Both Mr. And Mrs. Russell and Peggy are headed to high stakes in the future. It creates intriguing stories to keep its audience on their toes while watching.
What I thoroughly enjoy the most about THE GILDED AGE, besides their exquisite costuming, is their gossiping dialogues. They are so polite while they land a zinger or two, and they accomplish it with nary a stray facial expression or missing a beat. It is total fun moments while celebrating teatime or checking out exhibits.
THE GILDED AGE pits old-world wealth against the new every chance the writers get. It is highly entertaining during several upstairs/downstairs dialogues. If you are intrigued by “soap” period pieces, then this is just your cup of tea. I will set another place for you in the parlor.
