โ€œAll that matters is this one moment of movement. Make the movement vital and important and worth living.โ€

– Martha Graham

THE FIRST LADY ended its series with inspiration and hope for the future. Betty Ford (Michelle Pfeiffer), Eleanor Roosevelt (Gillian Anderson), and Michelle Obama (Viola Davis) had their moment to shine and uplift the viewers.

I believe this finale allowed all of us to believe in infinite, positive possibilities even in the face of adversity, death, and racism. I celebrated with each First Lady after watching where they began their life journeys. How profoundly lucky we were to have โ€œknownโ€ these three women and have them in our lives.

The writers knew exactly where they were leading us in THE FIRST LADY. The dialogues were honest, painful, and informative. I love โ€œknowingโ€ and learning about historical events. It makes me appreciate our country even more.

THE FIRST LADY could come back for another season with three new First Ladies. I, for one, would look forward to that and would be watching.

It is available to stream on SHOWTIME.
