Tarush, Aaron, and Esta hate-watched the first season of THE ACOLYTE so that you don’t have to.
E1-2 🤮
“I don’t have much to say about the underwhelming premiere of THE ACOLYTE. After the first episode, my first thought was “Is this a joke?”, which is never a good starting point. The story falls flat, the stakes are unknown, and the setting feels wasted.”
– Tarush
E3 DESTINY 🤮
“I love the idea of STAR WARS taking chances on new stories. Especially when they aren’t tied to the Luke Skywalker timeline. Yet, fans deserve better than E3, and we know after THE MANDALORIAN and ANDOR that STAR WARS can do better. I’ll continue to watch THE ACOLYTE, but I have little new hope for it.”
– Aaron
E4 DAY 🤮
“THE ACOLYTE is, for me, a waste of time to watch. There were only maybe five minutes of lukewarm excitement in the entire episode. I wanted to love this series, but it just feels impossible.”
– Esta
E5 NIGHT 😊
“The fifth episode of THE ACOLYTE should provide STAR WARS fans with what they want. It has twenty minutes of non-stop action and is the best episode so far. Yet, for reasons stated over the first four episodes, I still do not care.”
– Aaron
E6 TEACH/CORRUPT 😊
“It seems like the end of last week’s episode and the beginning of this week’s episode may be the peak of the show so far. TEACH/CORRUPT isn’t inherently a bad episode; but with only two episodes left after this one, it feels like too little, too late.”
– Tarush
E7 CHOICE 🤮
“THE ACOLYTE finally gave audiences the Mae/Osha backstory. Was it worth the wait? I can honestly say…no. There are still unanswered questions and the episode did nothing to progress the storyline. Quite frankly, I just didn’t care since the acting was minimal and the writing was boring.”
– Esta
E8 🤮
“THE ACOLYTE is the first STAR WARS series (outside of OBI-WAN) that doesn’t justify an existence. It should not be renewed for a second season, and instead, audiences can revisit ANDOR or MANDO to wash away the stench from spending time with these uninspired Jedis. Or a “memory wipe” might do the trick.” 😔
