SLOW HORSES tightens threads around the mysterious, murderous attempts. Being incognito helps tremendously with behind-the-scenes information gathering. The writers have made sure the plot can go many ways in all directions. This is the triumphant intrigue of this spy thriller series, and it is always compelling and totally entertaining.
Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb and Jack Lowden as River Cartwright are the glue that binds the MI5 Slough House together through every identity crisis and crazy mishap. I must assure all viewers that there are ample scenes with sheer, unbelievable moments. Their quirky characters are polar opposites yet mesh so well for both the dramatic and comedic action. There is much no one knows for sure at this stage of the series. Perhaps being “just a Joe in the field” could hold the key, but I have more questions than answers.
SLOW HORSES is slick, well-cast, and brilliantly written. The characters are flawed, caring and often get in their bumbling way. It is pure escapism with a twist on reality and what probably happens in the seedy, secret world of spies and agents. Don’t miss any of it.
