SLOW HORSES shared an intense, intriguing episode. It was all about backstabbing and wild chase scenes to make it to the Front Desk or survive while fleeing France. Most of the time, I just held my breath while watching the spy games people play for real.
It is sad when an old, revered agent slowly loses their mind. All that precious knowledge has gone to waste, and what a conundrum it produces for not only Slough House but for The Park as well. Speaking MI5 talk is great fun until it isn’t. It feels like life in London goes from one catastrophe to the next. It would not suit me at all. I don’t run fast enough to get out from under flailing bullets and bombs.Â
This is where the talented Gary Oldman as Lamb comes into the picture. Even though his character acts like a pig on the surface, there are always powerful, clever spy tactics in play. He never disappoints, nor do the writers, who keep us on the edge of our seats trying to figure it all out.
SLOW HORSES is an entertaining slow burn that captures our imaginations. It is a must-see TV show, even if you have no intention of changing your current profession.
It is streaming on Apple TV+.
