SLOW HORSES S1 & S2 REVIEW 🤩

SLOW HORSES was a spy thrilling, fast-paced series. It centers around the misfits and rejects from England’s illustrious MI5 force. This should not keep viewers from watching, since the team at Slough House was mighty capable when they put their minds to the task.

The opening sequence of Season 1 sets up the premise and will keep your heart pumping for hours. I was hooked within the first hour. What I loved about SLOW HORSES is how British TV is not afraid to do away with anyone in their ensemble and without warning. No one is safe, and that is the hook for returning. Double-crossing deals, deceit, lies, and covering the agency’s tracks puts audiences on a roller coaster ride for sure.

The ensemble was led by the brilliant performance of Gary Oldman as Lamb. His characterization of a “has been” was spot on, but I would not let the booze, smoking, and poor eating habits ever count him out. Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, and Rosalind Eleazar are spectacular, conniving, and compelling. The writers have given them the gift of vulnerability, and that makes them even more intriguing to follow.

SLOW HORSES has created a complete story within each season of six episodes. The third season is available as well and I am excited to begin my binging. It is a slick, well-produced, action show that is streaming on Apple TV+.
