SIMON COWELL: THE NEXT ACT is a six-part documentary showcasing Cowell’s search for the next big thing to compete with K-pop boy bands. It is just an avenue to let audiences in behind the curtain and view Cowell’s creative process of elimination and selection. Is it necessary to watch? No. It was pure PR. I regret being suckered in, and I adore Cowell. I am a huge fan, but this was unnecessary TV viewing. If and when the boy band overtakes K-pop, then the film would be much more interesting, relevant, and entertaining.Â
I actually don’t want to write more about this show. It would be an even bigger waste of your time. Just know when the title, SIMON COWELL: THE NEXT ACT, comes across your screen to consider watching…keep scrolling.
