SHRINKING S3E1 MY BAD 🤩

SHRINKING returned for its season three premiere with a heartfelt, thoughtful, sweet, humorous, poignant opening episode. I had to include all these adjectives because this is precisely what I felt while watching. There was no need for a gratuitous recap, since the writers beautifully swept the past into the present and showed where the entire ensemble is headed. There are no words to adequately describe the vibe and the life lessons each character offers. Oh, wait. I will say “Fu** Parkinson’s.”

The SHRINKING creators, Brett Goldstein, Bill Lawrence, and Jason Segel, truly have strong, guiding hands and hearts as they direct their chosen path for viewers. Every moment is packed with an emotional, yet uplifting story that continues to teach huge, unspoken concepts such as grief, mental health, and when it is acceptable to play that “dead mom’s card.” I swear SHRINKING is like having a session with your therapist without ever leaving the comfort of your couch. And they are just getting started.

This series works so well thanks to the stellar performances of the cast. Their characterizations are woven together so seamlessly that they create fully developed humans who most of us wish were surrounding our everyday lives. Jimmy, Paul, Gabby, Sean, Brian, Alice, Liz, Derek, and Julie rock our worlds with their sensitive portrayals. Through a shaky hand, a raised eyebrow, a sexy wink, an extra beat of silence, or tear-filled eyes, we are one. Extraordinary moments shared through the aging process of life. Bravo.

SHRINKING offered memorable snippets from movies we all cherish, and there was a surprise guest appearance of someone very special. It was an awesome moment that will make your heart skip a beat right down to the final frame. Don’t miss SHRINKING. It is worthy of your time and admiration.

SHRINKING is streaming on Apple TV.
